Whatever Happened To... Eating Well And Taking Exercise?

Hey!  You!  You need to write a blog post!

No.  No.  You can't make me!

No, but you can...

I don't follow.

You committed to doing a blog post a week, remember?  And you've kept it up. Are you really going to fail now, with only 8 more weeks to go?

...

You bastard.

Hey, I'm just you writing in a different font.

OK, OK, I'll do a damn post.

Good.  So what are we covering this week?

Err... How about the eating and exercising one?

Alright, so how's it going?

Mixed. I'm doing pretty well on the eating side of things. My snack consumption is down significantly and the frequency of giant, comedy puddings has dropped to almost nil.

But...?

But, if I'm honest, the exercise side of things is pretty shocking.  It's been the one challenge I've never really gotten to grips with. Maybe it's because I don't like exercise?

You don't like learning French either, though.

This is true. Maybe it's that I've seen pretty good results just from the eating healthy side of things.  I've lost around 15kgs and am solidly in the ideal zone of BMI now.  Plus, all my old jeans fit me again, which is excellent as the larger ones were wearing out.  I've been able to put off going shopping for clothes by a good six months as a result.

So what's been the hardest part?

Working from home.  Man, the temptation to just fire in to a massive pile of snacks is huge. If I worked from the office each day of the week, I'd probably be a kilo or two lighter!

And are you going to keep it up?

Yes. I'm enjoying being lighter and as time ticks by, eating less is pretty much required to remain that way. Gone are the days of eating whatever the hell I liked and still being thin as a rake.

See, that wasn't so hard, was it?

Patronising git.

Again, just you in a different font.  Anyway, hit me with some other long-term updates.
